Housecall Pro alternative
Built for how window cleaning is measured, priced, and run, not a generalist app with a wash add-on.
Housecall Pro sells the homeowner a beautiful booking experience: pick a service, tap a time, pay on a polished card screen. Then the window job lands on your board as "window cleaning, please," with no count behind it. Glass is billed by the pane, not the appointment: in-and-out and exterior-only are different rates, French grids and screens each carry their own count and minimum, and a two-story elevation adds a surcharge. HCP books the request but never quotes the glass, so you re-visit, re-count, and re-quote by hand. Hoseworks captures the window, pane, and screen count in the booking itself and prices it against your rate card, with the second-story bump already on.
Why window cleaning crews switch
Housecall Pro's online booking is genuinely smooth, but for glass it captures a service and a note, not a count. So the booked job arrives as a vague 'clean my windows' you still have to drive out, tally, and re-quote. The Hoseworks booking form asks for the window count, divided-light pane count, and screen count up front, so the lead lands already priced on your rate card instead of a re-quote waiting to happen.
In-and-out runs about $8 a window ($150 min), exterior-only about $5 ($125 min), French/divided-light panes about $2 a pane ($125 min), and screens about $3 each ($75 min). Each is its own service with its own floor, so a small sunroom of grids still clears its minimum. In Housecall Pro every one is a flat line item you build and remember by hand off a saved price list that knows nothing about panes.
Book that two-story colonial of divided lights as a flat appointment and the elevation never reaches the price. Hoseworks reads the property's story count and layers on the 15% second-story access surcharge itself, then leaves ladder / hard-to-reach (15%) and post-construction cleanup (30%) a tap away when a job warrants it. Housecall Pro carries no field for how high the glass sits, so that bump depends on you remembering to add it to the invoice.
Storefront glass is flat per visit (about $75) and comes back weekly or monthly. Housecall Pro reschedules the recurring job, but it won't sequence your storefront accounts geographically, so the crew backtracks. Hoseworks holds those visits on service plans and optimizes the run by density, turning a scattered day of downtown stops into one efficient loop the crew drives once.
Blame falls on your crew for a chipped pane, and without a dated before shot it sticks. Every Hoseworks walkaround has the crew shoot damaged glass before a squeegee touches it, and the file attaches to the property, not a closing job, so it resurfaces on the next visit. HCP's photo history is a CompanyCam add-on (~$63/mo) on the job, on top of its $79/mo per-user seat. Hoseworks folds photos, counting, and routing into one per-truck plan at $49/mo, so two techs in one van aren't two seats.

Housecall Pro is priced per user; the sales proposals and recurring service plans an exterior operator wants sit in higher tiers or paid add-ons, so realistic spend climbs past the sticker. Third-party add-on pricing changes, so verify current rates. The comparison is stack + per-seat vs. one bundled per-truck plan.

Where Housecall Pro still wins
Be fair about what Housecall Pro does better. Its consumer booking and payments are best in class: the homeowner books online in a slick flow, pays on a polished card screen, and taps HCP Pay, instant payouts, and consumer financing Hoseworks doesn't match today. Add breadth across every home-services trade and mature support, and if window cleaning is one line of a wider business, or a smooth payment experience is your priority, HCP's polish is real. Hoseworks is deliberately exterior-only.
Switching from Housecall Pro
Export your clients and properties from Housecall Pro as CSV and import them into Hoseworks, then choose the window-cleaning rate card (per-window in-and-out and exterior-only, per-pane, per-screen, each with its minimum) and set your prices. Your HCP invoices and payment records stay in Housecall Pro for the books. Because HCP booked appointments rather than window, pane, and screen counts, each property picks up its counts on the first cleaning, then re-quotes off them.
